Term 2 - Week 1 - Portfolio Research - Artists Models

William Green

I see reflection through the water. I see trees through the water. The background is very blurry. I like the contrast between the light and dark.

What genre is he working in?
Documentary. He's taking photos of what he sees in the world.

Daniel Kukla

Daniel Kukla works in fine art. His background is sharp. He zoomed in on the painting. It looks blue This photo is like my photo. I really like the contrast between the light and dark in this photo.

Where is his reflection coming from?
The reflection is not real. He might have done it on photoshop. The mountains are pointing towards each other.

Where is reflection coming from in your own work?
The world reflected in to water and glass on buildings. I don't do that on photoshop.

Would you try the same technique?
I would like to try and do some reflection in photoshop.

Michael Pistono

viral

My name is Michael Pistono, and I’m a 28-year-old photo enthusiast living in Honolulu, Hawaii. I was recently playing around with a reflection photo when I had the idea of creating another one out of a puddle — one that featured both tall buildings and an airplane.
The photo I ended up creating in Photoshop (shown above) went viral online. Here’s a look at how it was made.

I first used a picture of myself standing over a puddle as my base layer. I started off using my iPhone 5s and an app called ProCamera (which allows for much larger/high quality image files) to take this:
Michael Pistono took this photo of reflection through the puddle. I see buildings through the puddle. . He used cropping, shape repetition and leading lines. His background is sharp. This photo is similar to my photo. He made this in photoshop. I would try that as well. I think it would be interesting to put more than one image in photoshop.

David Guiterrez

David Guiterrez has taken this photo of reflection of the buildings through the water. This photo has been taken with a wider depth of field. I really like the colours. He is a London Photographer. I see a boat lying on the water.

David guiterrez takes this photo of reflection through the water. The water is red and I can see very good buildings through the water. He used repetition, leading lines, shape and cropping.

What genre is he working in?
-Bold colours
-Sunsets
