Creative Genres
·      Why do you think this is?
It is a genre of photography where a photographer puts various things in the scenery so that his idea or concept becomes clear to perceive. Most of the times, computers are used for blending various objects into a photograph, but many photographers just use what is available to them. Some photographers just make sure that everything they need in the photograph is already available tangibly to them in the scene, while others put the object in-place using PhotoShop or other similar tools..

Can you think of any photographers who fit into an editorial genre?
Yes.
·      Which editorial genre do they fit into?
Henri Cartier-Bresson was a French photographer whose humane, spontaneous photographs helped establish photojournalism as an art form. Documentary Photographer.

Andalucia, Seville, 1933
In 1930, he was inspired by a Hungarian photojournalist Martin Munkacsi who shot an image of three naked young African boys, caught in near-silhouette, running into the surf of Lake Tanganyika. Titled Three Boys at Lake Tanganyika, the image was symbolic to freedom, spontaneity and sheer happiness of being alive. As expressed by Cartier-Bresson in one of his talks, “The only thing which completely was an amazement to me and brought me to photography was the work of Munkacsi. When I saw the photograph of Munkacsi of the black kids running in a wave I couldn’t believe such a thing could be caught with the camera. I said damn it, I took my camera and went out into the street. I suddenly understood that a photograph could fix eternity in an instant.” (Source: Wikipedia) This image became an inspiration for him to choose photography over painting. He acquired the Leica camera with 50 mm lens in Marseilles and described this instrument an extension of his eye. Besides photography, this legendary photojournalist also tried filmmaking, assisting French film director Jean Renoir.
